The Crimple Valley is a beautiful area that we must protect for the future and our freedom to walk in the countryside.

Our walking has been improved by the rebuilding of the bridge over the Stone Rings Beck.

Building in progress early March 2003.

The finished bridge.

A new wood was planted on the right bank of the beck below Almsford Bridge in 2002

Unfortunately the site was not cleared before planting. This pile of tyres is close to the bank side.We have asked the Council what plans they have to tidy the wood before the trees grow. They have replied that they have plans only to clear the area around the gateway. It is difficult to believe the the pile of tyres will easily be overgrown

The new picture taken mid January 2007 shows them still there though somewhat covered in brambles

A "road to nowhere" has appeared at the beginning of the wood; it is hindering drainage of the area.

These are views taken at the end of January 2007

The committee keeps an eye on the planning applications and the use of the land in the Valley- the golf clubs, the gardens centres and nurseries, the garages and showrooms, etc..
We work with Pannal Village Society and the Harrogate Civic Society on these consultations.
